Professional Gambler Surpasses $1 Million In Jeopardy! Winnings

James Holzhauer

James Holzhauer kept his Jeopardy! winning streak alive on Tuesday night, earning his 14th victory and surpassing $1 million in total prize money. On Tuesday night's episode, Holzhauer correctly answered 41 questions, getting just one wrong.

He entered Final Jeopardy! with a lead of more $60,000 over the second-place contestant. Holzhauer wagered $50,000 on the final question and after correctly answering it he ended the day with $118,816, bringing his 14-day total to $1,061,554.

Holzhauer is just the second person to win over $1 million and did it in less than half the time taken by Ken Jennings, who currently holds the show's record for total winnings after earning $2.5 million during his record 74-game winning streak in 2004. It took Jennings 30 episodes to win $1 million.

Holzhauer has been winning an average of more than $75,000 each episode and is on pace to win more money than Jennings in just 33 episodes.
