Hotels Are Adding Fees to Use the Pool and Gym

Spirit Airlines started charging people for carry-ons in 2010. Now they charge for EVERYTHING, and other airlines have followed suit. So could the same thing happen with HOTELS next? Well, it's already started.

"The Wall Street Journal" just did a big story on a company called MCR Development that owns over 100 large hotels around the country. They're the fourth-largest hotel operator in the U.S., and they've been testing out the à la carte business model.

Around a dozen of their hotels now charge $25 to use the pool . . . $20 to check in early . . . another $20 to check out late . . . and an additional fee to use the gym. They claim it's going to allow them to offer rooms at slightly cheaper rates.
